| Sumario: | Between September 2000 and September 2001, employment in business services experienced its sharpest decline in the industry's 43-year history. Following almost a decade of unprecedented growth, the number of jobs in business services peaked in September 2000, but falling employment in personnel services, a reduction in the growth of computer services, and job losses in miscellaneous business services contributed to a drop in employment in the sector of 4 percent. Graphs of employment trends in these industries over the last several years are presented. |
