| Sumario: | A table lists the 1983 weekly earnings of wage and salary workers in 220 occupations employing 50,000 or more people, by sex. The statistics are not comparable to those available for 1979-82 because they are derived from the new system of job classification used in the 1980 census. A difference in calculating median earnings also makes comparison of the data to those of earlier years difficult. Because the table is based upon a population sampling, it must be interpreted carefully. Literature describing the limitations of the data is available. |
