| Sumario: | The computer manufacturing industry is apparently at a turning point, according to a study by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The study focused on the development of alternative projections of industry output and employment. Projections through 1995 differed significantly under varying macroeconomic assumptions. In all projections, however, the growth rate exceeded the average for the economy as a whole and was one of the highest among manufacturing industries. Even the most optimistic projected rate fell below the extraordinary rate of the last two decades. |
