      ab: A study was conducted to examine the standard errors of expected mean score differences between two quota-selected samples and the sampling distributions of these means using a Monte Carlo simulation. The overall aim was to clarify the basis for the predicted differences between the mean scores of majority and minority selectees. The findings revealed that expected mean differences in test scores between two quota-selected samples are caused mainly by differences in levels of sampling error and that such differences, in turn, result from differences in the sizes of the second-stage majority and minority samples. The implications of these results for organizations adopting a quota selection policy are discussed.
