| Sumario: | The writer describes MetaDOS, a Pascal computer program for DOS which is designed to provide a highly user-friendly environment for psychometric meta-analysis. Although the program offers no substantive improvements in statistical algorithms, it does provide some unique characteristics that promise to make particular analyses easier to set up and run than they would have been using other meta-analysis programs. The program uses a full-screen editor so that data files can be written in the same program from which they are analyzed. In addition, it provides the capability to work simultaneously with a number of files, each of which has its own window that can be shrunk, extended, and moved around to facilitate comparison. To enhance data analysis, the program permits the user to indicate missing value in the data file, therefore eliminating the need to construct different data files for each kind of artifact.
