ab: A study was conducted to examine individualism-collectivism concepts and decision styles of managers in Kuwait. Data were drawn from questionnaires completed by 307 managers of government, private, and mixed organizations registered in the stock market. Results revealed that participants displayed a high tendency toward collectivism and a weak commitment to individualism. In addition, they demonstrated a strong preference for consultative and participative decision styles and a dislike for autocratic and delegative decision styles. Although participants believed that the most effective decision style was the participative approach, most believed that their immediate supervisors employed a pseudoconsultative approach. In general, work collectivism was found to be positively correlated with both collectivism measures and individualism.
