| Sumario: | On September 14, 1999, Jeff Hawkins, the designer and brains behind the entire PalmPilot range of handheld computers by 3Com, unveiled Handspring's rival range, called Visor. Handspring comprises of people who ran 3Com's Palm Computing, and 3Com is evidently terrified. Hawkins new machine is cleverer than the Palmpilot because, through a slot in the back of the machine, plug-ins can transform Visor into a digital music player, a digital camera, a pager, or even, in the near future, a mobile phone. Handspring also understands the crucial element of design, and Visors come in several eyecatching colors. None of this guarantees that Handspring will lead the market, but its approach points to the future.
