| Sumario: | Part of a special issue on interventions for family caregivers. By way of introduction to this special section, the writers note that the contributing articles focus mainly on caregiving in aging and caregiving to adults with mental illness. They present an overview of the extent and nature of family caregiving and consider conceptual models of the caregiving experience. In addition, they consider the caregiving experiences in aging and mental health, emphasizing the differences in caregiving in these two areas. Furthermore, they review caregiver intervention studies in aging and mental illness and discuss implications of this review for future research. Finally, they offer some remarks arising from their review and provide an overview of the content found in the remaining nine articles in this special issue.
