Sumario:The increasing popularity of desktop videoconferencing could cut costs in many organizations by reducing the need for travel, messengers, and other expenses. In 1998, the desktop videoconferencing market will reach $600 million, an increase of more than 66 percent on 1997, according to Forward Concepts of Tempe, Arizona. Moreover, Frost and Sullivan of Mountain View, California, predicts that between 1997 and 2003, the market for videoconferencing systems and services will grow about 38.3 percent overall. A number of applications for videoconferencing are discussed.
