| Sumario: | The article reports on the rate of returns associated with completion of a two years in college. Several studies revealed that the economic returns from one to two years in college is considerably greater than dropping out of college. The rate of return might be more comparable to the four-year degree, if training is tailored to a particular occupation. In the survey of technicians conducted by the U.S. Bureau of the Census, shows that the increment to earnings associated with completion of the two-year Associate degree is significantly greater than the increment for some college and the corresponding internal rate of return compares favorably with other investments.
