Although their method is likely to have only a limited effect on day-to-day applications, the technique could revolutionize specific fields such as like body-scanning that demand vast levels of information processing. Aldroubi and Gröchenig believe that they have developed a set of mathematical algorithms that will permit the fast and robust reconstruction of signals from digital samples without the need to worry about band limits or uniform sampling.
