| Sumario: | A study was conducted to report the findings of the third year of one of the largest federal waiver demonstrations in the use of Title IV-E funds to finance subsidized guardianship programs for foster children who would otherwise have to remain in public custody—the Illinois Subsidized Guardianship Waiver Demonstration. The findings revealed that subsidized guardianship had a major impact on permanence under conditions of controlled experimentation; the selection of subsidized guardianship can potentially be greater under regular conditions of service industry; and the availability of subsidized guardianship as an alternative permanency option to adoption did not affect the stability of kinship and foster home placements. |
