By means of new chip architecture, chipmakers are able to roll out ever more heavy-duty hardware at competitive prices. The real losers in the looming upheaval could well be software suppliers, but end-users are also going to come under pressure as they will have to remain alert to prevent their licensing costs from spiraling out of control. |
