Sumario:In December 2005, the National Institutes of Health Office of Behavioral and Social Sciences released a program announcement, Research on Social Work Practice and Concepts in Health. The document calls for social work research on the impact of theoretically and empirically based social work practice on health outcomes for individuals experiencing medical and behavioral problems. An overview of the announcement and of the topics covered in this issue of Social Work Research is provided.
