| Summary: | A study was conducted to explore the application of Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA) methodology using palm top computers, as opposed to paper-and-pencil diaries, to assess the victims of child sexual abuse. Findings indicated that hand-held computers can facilitate the completion of EMA methodologies, which prospectively assess behavior in a momentary fashion in the natural environment, by children and their families many times per day. It is suggested that such intensive measurement strategies provide advantages for the study of moods and behaviors that are thought to fluctuate over relatively short time periods.
