| Sumario: | Part of a special issue on race, racism, and empire in the Canadian context. A study was conducted to investigate the presence of African writing in Canadian libraries. Data were obtained from analysis of the library resources of York University in Toronto. Findings revealed that the library owns only 3 of a possible 54 African-published periodicals, while only 14 of the 41 periodicals about Africa that the library owned were published in, or had at least one editor in, Africa. In addition, findings revealed that YBP Library Services, York University's vendor, had offerings from only 11 of Africa's 54 countries. Findings are discussed in detail.
