Sumario:Microsoft, the world's largest software firm, has announced a formal partnership with Compaq, a Houston-based computer maker that is challenging IBM for leadership of the world PC market. The partnership aims to make personal computers easier to use and to stimulate the market for what are known as personal digital assitants (PDAs). Many in the industry believe that in the next decade, the PDA—a paperback-sized combination of computer, fax, cellular link, and an electronic notepad that understands written commands—will achieve the same popularity as the PC.
