Subjects were 207 divorced women and their children. Findings indicated that quality of parenting by nonresidential fathers was associated with externalizing problems for boys and girls. However, the findings differed somewhat depending on the source of data employed to evaluate fathers' parenting. Quality of mothers' parenting demonstrated an association with externalizing problems of boys and girls and with internalizing problems for boys. Parental conflict was related to internalizing problems for boys only.
