| Summary: | A study was conducted to investigate the effect of Catholic education on high-school dropout rates and educational attainment. Specific attention was given to the impact of selection into the Catholic school sector. Results indicate that after adjusting for self-selection, sophomores attending Catholic schools are still substantially more likely to graduate with their class. However, seniors in Catholic schools are not more likely to obtain more schooling than other seniors if selection and other background factors are taken into consideration. |
