| Sumario: | A comprehensive leadership development program requires a deliberate selection of participants from the applicant pool, sufficient funding, and committed administrators and development staff. In addition, attention must be paid to the symbolic aspects of leadership. Current and aspiring leaders who adhere to officially designated competencies should be visibly rewarded in new or existing ways. In addition, the organization should demonstrate its commitment to the program by not tolerating poor leaders. The essential components of a leadership development program are discussed. |
