The writer examines why three central tasks for aging policies, programs, and practitioners provide such difficult challenges for policy and program development and implementation. The three central tasks are meeting the needs of diverse current elders; managing a diverse elder care workforce; and supporting the economic achievements of younger people from differing backgrounds whilst encouraging their sense of social solidarity with elders in order to ensure that they will continue to be willing and able to support elder care programs. |
