| Sumario: | It is suggested that there may be some basis to the long-held belief that dream processes were the uncovering of unknown connections and that dreams really do represent a mirror of humans' unconsciousness and not only random processes travelling along according to some brain “computation.” Findings of relationships among dissociative processes, hypnosis, and multiple personality disorder (MPD) that support these ideas are presented. It is explained that MPD represents an interesting theoretical problem, as an extreme example of the dissociative nature of the human psyche. |
