Results indicated that when the non-neglected field is occluded, subjects are able to perform with visual input directed to the “neglected field.” Results appear to support the attentional theory of neglect and suggest an inhibition by the intact left hemisphere on right hemisphere perceptual processing of input. The significant potential of this method for rehabilitation of recovery from neglect in right hemisphere stroke patients is discussed.
