| Sumario: | Part of a special issue in memory of Paul M. Sweezy, who was one of the founding editors of Monthly Review, is presented. An intellectual biography of Paul Sweezy, who died on February 27, 2004, is provided. It is explained that Sweezy's intellectual influence, which was global in its breadth, lay largely in two areas: as a leading radical economist, and as the principal originator of a distinct North American style of socialist thought in his role as cofounder and coeditor of Monthly Review. Details are provided of Sweezy's upbringing, education, introduction to Marxism, career, associates, and publications.
