Cameron's supporters are privately dismissive of Davis's claims to the center ground, and Davis's camp is angry about Cameron's pledge to “recast” Tory values. However, although the Cameron campaign likes to represent the leadership contest as the struggle of modernizers against recalcitrant and previously dominant ideologues, it may be class differences, rather than policy, that provide the greatest insights into the divisions in the party. The result may come down to an issue of Cameron's good breeding versus Davis's humble beginnings. pubtype: Periodical doctype: Article src: R language: English refInfo: copyright: @attributes: flag: N holdings: @attributes: islocal: N |
