| Sumario: | Part of a special issue on technology and aging. Research has found that changes in older people's perceptual, motor, and cognitive functions affect their ability to use computers and the Internet. However, a number of approaches exist to enhance Internet usability for older people. For example, the use of large font sizes, high-contrast color combinations for background and text, and white space to provide definition around text elements can help to address elders' perceptual problems, while hyperlinks can be made large enough for older people with motor control difficulties to easily click on them. The Internet is set to become an increasingly important resource for older people, and designers should be aware of their unique needs.
