Data were obtained from 60 in-depth semi-structured interviews conducted by instant messaging with social networking site members in England, Ireland, France, Italy, South Korea, Iceland, and Brazil. Findings revealed that instant messaging is a cost and time-effective method of conducting interviews. Findings also revealed, however, that an inability to use the software or access the Internet could limit the sample, and that interviewing through instant messaging requires an understanding of the users' communication etiquette. Findings are discussed in detail. pubtype: Academic Journal doctype: Article src: R language: English refInfo: copyright: @attributes: flag: N holdings: @attributes: islocal: N |
