Sumario:A study was conducted to examine how support exchange is related to the marital status of those involved and how that may differ by gender. Data were obtained from a survey conducted among the relatively diverse ethnic communities in Culver City, California, between 1997 and 1999. Findings revealed that coresidence and emotional and financial support are significant domains in the connection between support and differences in marital status and gender. Findings are discussed in detail.
