Data obtained from the nationally representative Early Childhood Longitudinal Study–Kindergarten Cohort were analyzed to determine within- and between-group variation on two hypotheses: one examining parents' beliefs about the importance of early academic skills and expectations about their child's educational attainment as predictors of parents' involvement practices and the second exploring multiple aspects of parents' home involvement as predictors of multiple aspects of parents' nonhome involvement. Findings revealed support for the first hypothesis and partial support for the second.
