| Sumario: | A study was conducted to examine divorce in Kuwait. Data were obtained from vital statistics, court of Justice information, and interviews with government officials to evaluate the factors that have influenced the divorce trend in Kuwaiti society. Findings revealed the rising divorce trend in Kuwait, the structural changes made by the government, and society's adaptation to this trend. Findings suggested there is a need for society to raise an awareness among the youth on the skills required to have lasting marriages, so that they do not begin married life with high expectations and a low sense of responsibility, and to enact social policies to help divorced women and their children readjust their lives to normalcy and be accepted without any stigma in society. Findings are discussed in detail.
