A number of models was examined, using multiple comparisons between response patterns of individual and pooled participants and predictive measures taken from simulations for each trial sequence. Findings indicate a reinterpretation of memory capacity and support a new type of model, with a single estimable parameter, in which specific, valued units of information are stochastically supplanted by further input.
