| Sumario: | Part of a special issue on using research to drive federal probation policies and practices. A study was conducted to examine the Accelerated Community Entry (ACE) program of the U.S. Probation and Pretrial Services Office in the Western District of Michigan, which was created in October 2005 to increase the opportunity for success by addressing the criminogenic factors associated with recidivism in offenders being released from prison. Data were obtained from surveys and interviews involving six offenders and five professionals. Findings revealed a strong consensus that the ACE program is effectively operating as it was intended, with participants expressing positive feelings about their experiences. Findings are discussed in detail. |
