| Sumario: | Trekkies, fans of the TV show Star Trek, have recently come under serious psychological scrutiny. Sandy Wolfson of the University of Northumbria in England administered her Star Trek Addiction Revealer to several hundred enthusiastic fans of the series. She found that most scored in the “moderately addicted” range but that 5 to 10 percent fit the psychological criteria for extreme addiction, craving the experience of watching the show, feeling euphoric while viewing it, and suffering withdrawal when they miss an episode. |
