      ab: In this issue, Katherine L. Narr et al. contributed to the body of research on the brain locations associated with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children and adolescents, with a specific focus on the thickness of the cortical mantle. Conventional wisdom suggests that ADHD may be too heterogeneous a diagnostic category to be meaningful in a neurobiological sense. The convergence of results concerning medial prefrontal cortex and anterior and posterior cingulate and precuneus by independent groups adopting a range of approaches implies instead that the development of explicit testable models of the pathophysiology of this common disorder may be closer than is commonly assumed. The challenge for the field is to learn the idiosyncrasies and pros and cons of specific techniques and approaches by developing common calibration data sets.
