| Sumario: | A study investigated the role of key educational experiences in family outcomes. Data were obtained from analysis of the accounts of 1,100 Israeli adults who each reported their three best educational episodes. Findings revealed how, by challenging children and adolescents, parents provided them with opportunities for self-discovery. Findings also indicated that parental trust provided children with supports that allowed them to engage in unexpected activities and behaviors with a sense of freedom and minimal risk or failure and trauma. Findings and implications are discussed in detail. |
