| Sumario: | A study compared parental leave and fathers’ involvement with children in Bangladesh and the U.S. Data were obtained from 59 Bangladeshi mothers and 27 Bangladeshi fathers and compared with a convenience sample of 38 U.S. couples. The results shed light on the leave taken by Bangladeshi fathers for childbirth and their involvement with children, their involvement with their children and leave-taking compared with fathers’ in the U.S., and the effect of mothers’ employment on the extent and nature of Bangladeshi fathers’ involvement with their children. |
