He has had many successes since his first natural history series The Pattern of Animals, all of which have pushed him through the ranks of the BBC. He became the first controller of BBC2 in 1965 and was appointed director of programs across the BBC in 1969. A hallmark of his working life has been his desire to push back the boundaries. |
