| Sumario: | Part of a special issue celebrating the tenth anniversary of Business Ethics Quarterly. The writer discusses the challenge that the Information Age presents for business ethics. The computer is changing all realms of business, meaning that marketing is done differently, management is done differently, and manufacturing is done differently. The standard ethical issues of business are being altered as the industrial age gives way to the information age. One-on-one marketing raises a host of ethical questions, such as the use of information for purposes other than for that for which it was originally intended. It is an important task for the business ethicist to help overcome the ethical-technical gap, to help both the general public and business to see the ethical responsibilities that the Information Age produces, and to help business act responsibly.
