| Sumario: | A study was conducted to compare hypothetical phone and mail contingent valuation responses for green-pricing electricity programs. Data were drawn from a comparison of personal and phone interview surveys and mail surveys. The results show that social desirability effects are to be found more in phone responses to subjective questions but do not appear to affect hypothetical participation decisions. The results imply that neither mode appears to dominate from the perspective of providing more valid stimates of actual participation decisions. |
