Sumario:	A study was conducted to examine the diffusion of the voluntary Common Language Standard (CLS) within the public sector in Denmark. Data were drawn from quantitative surveys of civil servants and elected officials in Danish municipalities. Findings revealed that regional pressure and the initial source of the standard play an important role in the diffusion process. These findings contradict other analyses indicating that diffusion from organization to organization is more significant.
