| Sumario: | A study was conducted to investigate the physical activity and other health behaviors of adults aged 50 and over by using portable electronic diaries. Data were obtained from 23 individuals recruited from the San Francisco Bay area. Findings revealed that the behavioral strategies—reinforcement, feedback, and tracking—that were programmed into the electronic diary did not strengthen adherence to the computerized health assessments. Nonetheless, it was found that the majority of participants liked answering all of the computerized health questions and were motivated to complete the electronic-diary assessments. Findings imply that further study of the use of portable electronic technology in physical activity assessment of middle-aged and older adults would be useful.
