      ab: A study was conducted to examine readers' ability to segment activity into a series of events. Data were obtained from 28 individuals who read brief narratives describing everyday activities while brain activity was recorded using functional magnetic resonance imaging. Findings suggested that the segmentation of narrated activities into events is a spontaneous part of reading and that this process of segmentation is probably dependent on neural responses to changes in the narrated situation. Findings are discussed in detail.
