A commentary on an article by Mary Ann Curry et al. that appeared in this issue on pp. 1001–1025. In their article, Curry et al. set out the Safer and Stronger Program (SSP) to advance the development of the measurement of the prevalence of different types of abuse experienced by deaf women and disabled women and perpetrator risk characteristics. The writer suggests that Curry et al.'s previous disability-specific assessment work and the related measurement work of Soeken et al. on the development of the Abuse Assessment Screen-Disability (AAS-D) provides the framework for the development of the SSP. The writer comments on the strengths of the SSP, and offers suggestions for future methodological research to improve their efforts and, hopefully, lower sampling error and measurement error. pubtype: Academic Journal doctype: Article src: R language: English refInfo: copyright: @attributes: flag: N holdings: @attributes: islocal: N |
