      ab: A study examined the role of the dorsal visual processing stream in tool identification. Data were obtained using continuous flash suppression to functionally classify information computed by the dorsal stream from that computed by the ventral stream. Findings suggested that the dorsal stream, separate from the ventral stream, is agnostic to the identity of the object it processes. Findings suggested that structures within the dorsal visual processing stream compute motor-relevant information, which impacts on the identification of manipulable objects and is not either about the function of the object or function-specific. Findings are discussed in detail.
