| Sumario: | A study examined how activity demands—body postures, actions and hand functions involved in laundering, housework, cooking, and shopping—relate to the capabilities of a sample of older people in Great Britain. Task data from 4,886 community-dwelling 55–93-year-olds who took part in a follow-up survey to the 1996/97 Family Resources Survey were obtained. Findings revealed comparable effect sizes across activities for limitations in body pastures, actions, and hand functions. Findings suggested that most of the difficulties were explained by limitations in body postures, whereas actions and hand functions accounted for much less difficulty. Findings are discussed in detail.
