It is important to keep in mind that when a condition tends to increase among all groups, it tends to increase at greater rates in the group that is the least susceptible to it, and that when a condition improves, the disparities among the compared groups tend to increase. Otherwise, inaccurate data interpretation or model specification may lead researchers to find evidence of discriminatory treatment that does not exist.
