Hamid al-Bayati, spokesman for the main Shia anti-Ba'ath opposition group in Iraq, is of the opinion that Kuwaitis are still being held in cells in Baghdad, whereas other sources suggest that some have been killed. Lady Olga Maitland, a British MP and campaigner for the missing Kuwaitis, has said that there must be no question of lifting sanctions against Iraq until these people have been released. |
