The program, in which 550 high schools now participate, links high school and two-year college courses to integrate academic and vocational education. The Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Applied Technology Education Act, which was passed by Congress in 1990, sponsors Tech Prep programs in several general “career clusters,” including engineering and industrial training, information systems, health and human services, and arts and humanities. |
