| Sumario: | The writers focus on the programming facilities within EViews, which they have found especially useful for the analysis of economic models. They argue that EViews is an effective programming tool that complements its function as a general regression package very well. They assert that the principal advantage for the programmer in using EViews is the ability to make use of the extensive range of accessible functions associated with a powerful econometrics package. They point out that this makes its easy for programs to draw on built-in routines to conduct an extremely broad range of operations. Furthermore, they contend that the ability to make use of EViews graphics is an invaluable tool for model diagnosis. They present three examples of the use of EViews for model analysis but stress that there are many other possibilities. |
