| Sumario: | The Internet is making the Microsoft trial in the U.S. concerning its alleged abuse of its dominant market position in computer operating systems irrelevant. In Asia, the software and computer services industry is concentrating on new opportunities to develop business software over the Internet, an area where it can really compete with Microsoft. According to some software firms, software will not exist on computers at all but will instead be accessed over the Internet. Microsoft has also recognized this and is entering into partnerships with major telecoms and Internet players in an effort to gain some of the expected boom in this market. |
